About Us

Ideal Legal Support Services, LLC was started in 1991 by Matthew Lyman to provide assistance with many legal documents and service of process to landlords, law firms, paralegals, real estate agencies and private individuals.

I found that many people had a difficult time understanding the documents and the processes that went along with those documents. That is when I decided to form Ideal Legal Support Services, LLC.

Now here it is years later and we are still going and growing strong. 

Matthew is the President of Ideal Legal Support Services, LLC. He brings to Ideal an A.A.S. in Criminal Justice from Schenectady County Community College and a B.A. in History and Political Science with a Concentration in Law from the College of Saint Rose. He has been involved in the legal industry for over 25 years with a number of those years being a New York State Licensed Private Investigator.

Matthew, for over 20 years has served on over 50 Associations, Boards and Commissions. Namely the Schenectady County Community College Board of Trustees, Past Chairperson of the Civilian Police Academy at the Schenectady Police Department, Director of Security and later Chairperson for the largest public festival in Schenectady; “Tuesday In The Park”. Also Mr. Lyman has been a former bodyguard for Yolanda King, the eldest daughter of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He also was a Taekwondo Instructor for Elite Taekwondo Academy. Although he enjoyed being involved in community endeavors, he found that business ventures were necessitating more and more of his time so he needed to step away from his community involvement. His participation has been recognized by the New York State Bar Association, The New York State Education Department, the city and county of Schenectady as well as many other entities.
